Gösta Wessel (1944–2024) was a Swedish artist, researcher and professor. His work is characterised by advanced studies in colour and light, geometric shapes and patterns. He was born in Lund, Sweden and studied art in Stockholm at the Royal Institute of Art. His work compromises both fine art and sculptures as well as permanent and site-specific installations for architectural and urban settings. He taught and conducted artistic research in colour and light at his role as a professor at Konstfack – University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. His own artistic inquiry always continued in parallel.
